Miss World Beach beauty is a swimsuit or fast track competition in the Miss World pageant. It was formerly known as the Best in swimwear award. The Beach Beauty event first started in 2003, where the Miss World Organization wanted to have preliminary or "fast track events" to allow delegates to get into the top 20 or top 15. This event allowed all the Miss World delegates (over 100) to have an equal chance of being in the semifinals. The Beach Beauty event showcases different swimsuits designed by Miss World 1975, Wilnelia Merced. Since 2003, the winner of the event automatically makes the semifinals.
Rules
Each delegate competes in different swimsuits. The judges narrow the delegates from more than 100 to a top 20 or 15. Then in that list, they have a top 5, and finally runner ups and the winner.

Wilnelia Merced
Wilnelia Merced Forsyth (born October 12, 1959 in Caguas, Puerto Rico) became in 1975 the first and to date only winner of the Miss World title from the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
Merced faced a difficult year: the last Miss World before her had caused controversy by having a child out of wedlock. It was important for the winner to restore the contest's reputation. She travelled widely during her reigning year and was invited to pre-civil war El Salvador by that country's government. She fell in love with England, which she would later make her home.
After passing on her crown, in 1976, she was signed by Ford Models in New York. In 1978 a giant poster of her was displayed in Times Square, and she was introduced, in London at the 1980 Miss World competition gala to British television entertainer Bruce Forsyth. Merced and Forsyth married in 1983. While still a public figure at home in Puerto Rico she retired as a model after her wedding. They had a son in 1986, and she became in the 1990s, the owner of Miss World Puerto Rico. She also has a foundation to help Puerto Rico's under-privileged children, for which she organizes charity balls.
Merced lives with her husband and their son, Jonathan Joseph, in London. In 2002, during one of her visits to Puerto Rico, her London home was broken into by thieves, who injured one of her maids.
Merced is also a distant relative to reggaeton artist and independent film actor Darren Martinez.
Rosanna Davison
Rosanna Diane Davison (born 17 April 1984 in Dublin, Ireland), was the winner of the Miss World 2003 title from the Republic of Ireland. At the same pageant she was also awarded the title of Queen of Europe, and was the first ever Beach Beauty contest winner. She had not entered the Miss Ireland competition which preceded Miss World herself. She was shopping in Dublin when she was approached and asked to enter, as there had been very few entries into the pageant. Therefore, with no competition, she had to be entered.
There was a lot of controversy surrounding her win, as it was said her father Chris de Burgh had influenced the vote.
She is the daughter of "popular" Irish musician Chris de Burgh. The song "For Rosanna" was written by her father in her honour for his 1986 album, Into the Light.
She is a graduate of University College Dublin.
Currently, Rosanna Davison is dating former Mr Ireland contestant, Wesley Quirke. It is disputed that they met on the social networking site, Bebo. Their love is continously splashed across their bebo pages for everyone to see. This includes a recent raunchy photoshoot the couple did together. They are not ones to shy away from publicity. Some might be uncomfortable with such close scrutiny on a relationship but this pair revel in it.
Nancy Randall
Nancy Randall is a Brazilian-American model. She won the title "US Miss World" or Miss World USA and placed 2nd runner up in the Miss World 2004 pageant.
In 2005 Randall won the title Miss New Orleans USA. She competed in the Miss Louisiana USA pageant in 2006 where she placed first runner-up to Christina Cuenca.
After failing to win Miss Louisiana USA title, she entered the Miss Earth USA 2006 pageant but placed as 1st runner up (Miss Air).
She is now 26 years old, so she will be unable to compete in other international beauty pageants.
Randall completed her BA in Anthropology at Northwestern University.
Yulia Ivanova
Yulia Ivanova (born 1983) is a Russian beauty queen and a model. She was crowned Miss Russian Beauty in 2005 and later represented Russia at Miss World 2005. She made the top 15 by winning the Beach Beauty competition. Before competing in beauty pageants Yulia was a contestant in Russia's Next Top Model cycle 2 TV show.
Federica Guzmán
Alexandra Federica Guzmán Diamante, most commonly known as Federica Guzmán, is the former Miss Venezuela World 2006.
Guzmán competed as Miss Miranda in Miss Venezuela 2001 (and the preceding Miss World Venezuela 2001) without success. However, the altered schedule of the Miss World 2006 pageant forced the Miss Venezuela Organization to prepare an "emergency pageant" to select a candidate, wherein several former contestants from previous editions of the national contest participated. Guzmán was the undisputed favorite for the national title, causing the usual controversy, but her performance at Miss World broke the failure streak of her country to classify into the semifinals since the participation of Valentina Patruno in 2003.
Once in the pageant, Federica was fast-tracked into the semi-finals after winning the Beach Beauty preliminary competition. She proceeded to compete for the title of Miss World 2006 on the night of September 30, 2006, in the Americas group but failed to make the final cut. The winner of Miss World Americas 2006 title was Miss Brazil.
Federica's successor, Claudia Suárez, was crowned the night of September 14, 2006.
Ada Aimee de la Cruz
Ada Aimee de la Cruz was born and grew in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She represented her country in the Miss World 2007 Pageant, being placed between the semifinalists on December 1, 2007.
